Mmmm. Lemon pepper turkey with extra mustard (and that's Kosher deli mustard, thank you, not some namby pamby fancy Dijon stuff!) on a soft bakery knot roll is yummy and delicious! Oh, and the reason it says that is because if you disconnect it with out ejecting it, then you'll end up interrupting it's communication with iTunes, and it won't copy properly. sometimes.
Are you syncing? you can manually choose which music to sync, if you want, or just click the button on the iPod screen (that pops up when you dock it) that says "Manually Manage Music". and then you can go in and clear out what you don't want by just clicking on the iPod and removing/deleting playlists.
Does that help at all?

Syncing wha? I mean, shouldn't there be a menu for this? Manually manage what? I get "Do not disconnect" with the flashy red circle-slash of doom. It hates me.

I saw this warning too late. My bad for drinking tea while having fun on the net. :D
That's weird. The only warning I have whenever I plug my iPod to iTunes on my laptop, the "do not disconnect sign" just disappears afetr a while without any red flashing circle-slash. So, here are a few tips...
Have you updated iTunes recently?
Is your battery working correctly?
Have you ever unplugged your iPod without disconnecting first from iTunes?

My iPod's an older model than Dramedy's, so there's nothing clickable on the screen, but there is a menu in iTunes that should appear if you have it open when connecting the iPod? There are little tabs at the top that you can use to change settings, and I'd just be even more confusing if I went on so I'll stop now :)
