what you have to look at then is if you really are doing things. it's a lot harder to actually change things than most people would like, so you just have to look at the way you're doing things. instead of going to a protest, go out and feed some homeless people, volunteer for somewhere, or send what you can to worthy organizations that actually do help people. legistlative change will almost never happen, i've noticed the only way to make any real change is direct action. if the opportunity presents itself, less passive direct action can be both imensly effective and a big boost to your spirit. but do whatever you can, just try to make a change and dont give up hope.

Here's what helped me: Getting out of the country.
I spent so much time traveling and traveling and traveling... Seeing new ways of living helped broaden my perspective and become more productive with my disdain.
