i'm not poor. i'm not oppressed, i'm not gay. i'm not hurt, i'm not desperate, i'm no minority. i'm not repressed in anyway. AND IS THAT A REASON NOT TO SAY: the world is more than what we see. i have got no redeption song, but is that an excuse to not respond? so, if you're living off fine, that's a good reason to shut off your mind and not fight ( Read more... )

That is a sentiment that was expressed a lot in the responses I got from male feminists... when I did my zine, pretty much every guy at some point stated that they felt excluded in some way...

I agree, just because you don't experience something first hand doesn't mean you can't fight to fix it. I guess you just have to be careful not to speak for those people, or to have all the answers?

yeah, it has been crunch time with school... I havent had too much time to comment.

I really hear what you're saying. A lot of people say the same thing to me: "You cant talk about it because you're not XXXXXX". I cant remember what it is called, but that way of thinking is a fallacy of some sort.

Actually, if you want to argue against them, just say that it is contrary to reason. The idea of reason, as a human faculty, is that it allows one to figure something out with out having to experience it. So, if there is a ball at the top of the hill, we know that if we push it, it will roll down the hill. We do not have to experience that in order to know that it will be the outcome. Sorry, i should explain this better... but blah.

anyhow, talk to you later...

yeah, exactly. and it also forces people to concern themselves with what's their problem. one example is white people who fight for african american rights... i recently went to a poetery slam, and i was embraced by that community, but there are people out there who will tell me that i could never never protest or speak in spoken word becuase of my skin colour... either way...i speak for peopel who dont have a voice.

next time you see my on msn, give me a message! i dont know if ive got youonline, i havent seen you in a while.. :)

i actually think that everyone has a different idea of what's right.

there is no right or wrong.

communisim is wrong.
genocide is wrong.
racisim is wrong.
anti-semitisim is wrong.
fascisim is wrong.
oppression is wrong.
abuse is wrong.
dictatorships are wrong.

the "there are not black and whites" are a person's excuse not to fight for what's right.

see, you're just giving angry names to ideas that people think are right at the time. there are people out there who seriousely believe that abuse will prove their ideals and there are people who believe that dictatorship is the only way to control people. we may not agree with these opinions but who are we to say it's wrong?

we all disagree, i think we should disagree.

if you think that, at some point, genocide or rascism or sexual abuse is right because there are people out there who believe it's right.. then i'm scared. because, on no terms is genocide right. IN NO TERMS.

it is that black and white.
