Blackstar waits invisibly in the corridor beyond Frostbite's office, out of sight, out of range, until the little mech that assists her steps out for a bit. It's not the first time he's hovered out here invisibly, waiting; he's slipped in once already when Frostbite had left to hide in odd nooks and crannies about her office some of the red rocks ( Read more... )

Blackstar tilts his head curiously as he catches brief sight of the interior of the warded room, giving a shudder as the door slides shut again.

"That is not natural," he intones gravely, shaking his head. "Scrap, the closet Prestige kept his paint and polish in was bigger than that. Slag, the closet Scrimmage kept his personal paint and polish in was bigger than that, and he'd been known to go running around in six different layers of colors sometimes because he could care less about his paintjob as long as his tools were in order."

He drops further into the room, pacing around - still on the ceiling, of course, mainly because he can - until he's facing her desk from the front. Fortunately, the ceilings are high enough here, even in the heart of Metroplex, that they're still almost at optic level with each other. It's claustrophobically tight compared to most of the spaces in the city, especially for a mech with a natural yearning for sky and freedom ( ... )

Blackstar gives a brief shudder, his transparent form flickering faintly at her pronouncement.

"Not even in a tin-can of a roughneck outpost station have I ever had to make due with a closet," he declares firmly.

Not that they hadn't tried once or twice. That had stopped, however, when younger, cockier mechs with bigger quarters had somehow, amazingly, mysteriously ended up on the battlfield in pieces too small to even bother sorting through for parts.

"Dreadful, huh?" he chuckles, crossing his arms over his chest with a wicked smirk. He can do "dreadful".

"Fair 'nuff. I'll meet you outside."

The flash of optics and that cheshire cat smirk are the last things to fade out of sight. Frostbite's office is quite suddenly a good deal warmer, though the temperature hadn't offered to drop over the last few minutes by even a fraction of a degree.
