I have to finish my fairy dolls story (still untitled, because I suck at titles) by 4pm today, so of course I am procrastinating by researching fiction markets for "Erased" (any ideas? I'm pretty desperate) and updating my livejournal.

I don't think that it's necessarily true that YA readers don't want to read about kids--what about Coraline? I was 19 when I read that and I think she was supposed to be like, 10? It depends on the mood and interest points of the story. And it may even work for an adult market, adult readers don't mind reading about kids, especially if they have them, you know.

Yay! That's a nice rejection. Grin.

Market suggestions: Heliotrope = pro rates, I just got a (very nice) rejection today, it took 4 days. Did you try Fantasy Magazine? There's also Lone Star Stories. Those are the ones that I know of that I think would like Erased.

And I saw your post to the alpha group, and I'd love to take a look at the story. I should be able to get it back to you sometime tomorrow.

Hee, I like reading other people's writing posts.

Yay, thank you! Which e-mail address shall I send the story to? I found three in my brief search through livejournal and my e-mail inbox. :P

I'll definitely look into those markets. I've just been unsure about whether to send it to straight fantasy markets, since it's pretty slipstream. I'm worried that it's not fantasy enough for fantasy markets and not literary enough for literary markets. *sigh* But any suggestions are great, yay!

I also love reading other people's writing posts. People should make more of them. *poke*
