Would you believe it, the characters actually have names...! (Yeah, I was surprised too.) I happened to find this name chart while looking through the strips, and with my fail hiragana skills, thought I'd translate it to share ( Read more... )

I've never seen "Yaoi" in a name before, but girls're named Yuri all the time(I giggle at that too) so I guess I'm not surprised.

I found U-1224's human via pixiv yesterday, and wondered if any others had names (I couldn't find any).

But, nice to know they do!

I love 1224's name a lot.

Edit: Also, for clarification, are the Japanese names written in Japanese name form? If they are, could you note that? Just so no one gets confused like I was when I started reading their names.

Yeah, the first thing I did when I found this fandom was find some of the pixiv tags. Someone should make a list for them, too. *contemplates* I might do that later.

I love U-1224. He kinda reminds me of Russia, from what I can tell. He's just so big and huggable. I really love him and I-8 together. They seem really entertaining and sweet. and canon

And Tomcat shouldn't have the same last name as Hellcat and Wildcat simply because the Tomcat didn't come out until like the 70s. the F8F was called Bearcat. xDDD

Well, I think it has to do with the call numbers; F4F, F6F, you know. It makes sense that way. But my inner Hetalia fan did lol a bit. The author is a Hetalia fan, too, so I can't really blame her~

Yeah, I honestly have no idea why Tomcat even exists in this comic. He's very not WWII. I don't really like his character much anyway, as apparently he's really annoying. He does not deserve to be related to Wildcat and Hellcat. Because they can't stand him either. XD

But whatever. He's there. Author's choice. Not mine. Even if it makes no historical sense whatsoever. XD

Well that makes sense. didn't think about that. xD My first thought was Hetalia and I was like "wait whut?"

Pfft Well I don't know much about the various planes [outside of what my dad told me this weekend *yay air showww*] Because the Tomcat isn't even in the same group of planes. because even after the Bearcat came out, the one that followed was called Panther. D: But I think Tomcat has a cool design, but idk about his personality so far.

Don't worry, I had the same thought. XD

It didn't look like it was in the same group of plane. But here we are getting srs bz so early in the fandom. I think the author was just like, "HEY IT'S A CAT TOO, THEY MUST BE RELATED." It's not like Himaruya has the most accurate portrayal with his characters either. XD

As far as his personality, he has a verbal tic of saying "Baby" and "Daddy" and hums and sings "Highway to the Danger Zone constantly." He seems to really get on the others nerves.

At least, this is what I can gather, and some information from another friend.
