Previously on Criminal Minds: ...and thus begins the most elaborate postmortem guilt trip since Tobias Hankel.

As much as I love Morgan taking this whole promise thing to the end, this felt so much like plot devicey angst-o-rama just to create a story arc for Morgan. So I honestly hope this is wrapped. Added to this is my complete lack of belief that this girl would be so together after seeing her aunt raped and her father shot and then being used as murder bait for a psychopath? And that wig was totally fucking with me.

Reid's wearing his Chucks again. And my world continues to spin on its axis.

As a dedicated Chuck T fanatic since 1988, have I mentioned how much I love Reid? What? Those aren't related?

So Reverend Pickup Truck seems like a really nice guy. Too bad he's going to die in t-minus five minutes.

That dude was a pedophile. Did you see his creepy "I'm gonna get me some boyflesh" smile? Totally jstified murder, in my book.

Yeah I agree. I hope the Ellie storyline is over. Morgan really needs to have a legit story arc in the near future, and the whole "promise me" thing always seemed like a bit of a stretch to me.

In my universe, those two things are inherently related.

Why didn't I get the pedo vibe from him!!?? See, this is why I should never talk to strangers. Lol.

Haha! Kidfic in general is abhorrent. But then again, I'm the pickiest fic reader in the known universe. For me to even THINK about touching a story it has to be 100% canon, well-written, and it must have a POINT (ie/ an eventual endgame). Sometimes I try to read Morgan/Reid slashfic (because I ABSOLUTELY LOVE their relationship... and what they bring out in each other) but then about halfway through the stories I remember that I'm more enamoured with their hetero-bromance than anything else. Lol. And I love the "Morgan=playa, Reid=protege" vibe that we see in "Somebody's ( ... )

So we're the same fic reader, essentially. Which means I don't read much Morgan/Reid, because unfortunately, most of the Morgan/Reid ficcers lack ( ... )

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that I read that story. Yes, I read the ENTIRE THING. For a non-slasher I'd say this is pretty impressive.

I will completely agree with you that this is probably the most in-character representation of Reid and Morgan that I've seen in a slash fic (again, keeping in mind that the only slash fics I usually read are the ones that aren't overtly labelled as such, and I'll usually run for the hills as soon as I get blindsided by impromptu makeout and/or sexytime sessions).

NONETHELESS, I think that BECAUSE this story was able to keep them in character, and thus offer a more natural, believable progression towards sexytime, I was able to let myself go with it. And yes, I bought it. Grano salis not even required! This is a pretty big deal for me. Of course, this could have something to do with the fact that the author employed one of my top fic-literary-device guilty pleasures: Re-quoting an opening line at the end of the story to round it off and give it closure. I mentioned earlier that I like it when ( ... )

Okay, so I was just rewatching "Penelope," because David Bowie is God, and I think the mention of the brothers was the slip from canon, not the other way around. All of Garcia's memories are of her and her parents only. She only talks about her parents and how, after losing them, she went off the grid. This is pretty consistent with someone who is an only, doted upon child, not someone who has older or younger brothers to keep her grounded.

I think the writer of this episode suffered from LO: Criminal Minds disease, wherein new writers were brought in who didn't research the characters at all and just wrote episodes while ignoring six seasons of backstory. It's annoying, true, because I like consistency, but hopefully won't become something we see a lot of this season.

Oh, by the way. Sorry about the ginormously long comments. I tend to ramble and get so excited and have all this stuff I want to say. Just tell me to back off if it's annoying.

OMG I just realized I have the same icon as you!!!

Hmm... yes now that I think about it you're right. And, while I sincerely hope that the writers are clever enough to catch their oops and fix it, I doubt that they will. Still, it's fun to dork out and pick apart continuity errors.

Oh, and NEVER apologize for rambling!!! I am probably the WORST PERSON in the universe for this, and I often think that I annoy the pants off most people with my windbaggery. Getting excited/flailing/spazzing is what I do best, and most times I get carried away and have to force myself to delete half of my entries before I post them, so do not worry about me thinking your comments are too long. I delight in lengthiness.

Now, if MY comments start to get annoying, I urge you to please let ME know! :)
