Lovely story! I love that their friendship isn't a means to an end, but rather the end itself. A fresh twist, and makes me want to be a part of their friendship even more. Thanks for a great read, as always. :)

It's nothing that has been done all that often, has it? But I have always missed that kind of story, so ... well. If no one does it, do it yourself, right? I'm just glad that what I wanted to show came across. Thank you for the lovely comment, Luna!

I'm not one to be satisfied all that often by things that are not slash, but this felt just perfect to me and so, so satisfying. Thank you!

Also, I'm downloading the music, so thank you for that as well.

Believe me, I know. I often feel unfulfilled when authors fade to black or are too vague, but this is exactly why I didn't label this story, because it isn't slash, but it isn't gen, either. It's inherently impossible to label. Which gave me a sleepless night or two, but I'm glad you enjoyed it nevertheless.

I liked this a lot. I'm as much a sucker for deep emotional connection as I am for hot boysex, so.... *g*

I tried to d/l the compilation, but got an error message in German. *g* I'd be happy to host it on my (pretty much unlimited) space, if there's a way you can get me a copy of the .zip file.

I should not be allowed on the internet on some days. Typed the link from memory rather than double-checking, and forgot about the dashes. It should be fixed now, but if you feel like hosting it, I'd be unbelievably grateful.

And, well, yeah. You know how much I like hot slash, but this has been niggling in the back of my mind for ages now, and the story finally worked when Return 1 was aired. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I have a somewhat similar idea that I'm thinking of writing, only it's going to have to be long, so...not until I get moved in March. *g*

Okay, it's up at:

Feel free to post the link wherever/however you want; I have enough available transfer/bandwidth to choke a horse. *g*

Zoe, I am so sorry for only answering this now.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is highly appreciated and lovingly cherished.
I miss your stories, and I miss good, long stories, so, if you need cheerleading in March ...

Well, sorry. No drunken sex, in fact, no sex at all. That's kind of what this whole story was about - they don't need the sex for their friendship. In fact, it could easily ruin it.
I'm a sucker for slash as much as the next person, but this was exactly the point of the story - no sex. Which is why it had the working title of The Amazing No Sex Story.

This makes my broken McShep glasses very happy, and on top of that, the writing is very good.

But Rodney was already analysing and feeling the small eureka of a theory proven right bubbling up. “I had a feeling from the beginning, but I needed more data, but I didn’t know how to get it and can I just say that this really --,“ Rodney began before he pulled back enough to look at John.

“Doesn’t work,” John finished

Perfect.

Thank you. I got very tired of everything leading into sex in stories as of late, when there is so much more about them that bears exploring. I'm glad that my story gave some sticky tape to fix your McShep glasses.
