I also cried. I got into bed and thought I'd sweep Facebook before going to sleep, to see all the status' about the incident. Looked on BBC News and sure enough it was real. I couldn't sleep for a few hours afterwards. Went downstairs, turned my PC on and watched the President's speech and just blubbed. I think most parents, including the President, and those who want children, are in all the same position - completely heartbroken for those families and so angry at the man who did it.

I try to be open minded. I don't particularly like their current gun laws. I feel their health care system is a shambles and, for all we know, that man may have really needed medical help. Depression and mental health problems are still frowned upon and considered a weakness... not everyone is brave enough to get help. It in no way excuses what he did - but I think these are contributing factors that *really* need to be addressed after yesterday's tragedy.
