Clean Slate

I love a new year. All the old crap from the previous years goes in boxes and disappears into the oblivion of document storage. I will soon have a nice, shiny clean office...which lasts for about a month until I start piling stuff up again. But at least I will be able to walk around without climbing over piles of crap

you say you're cleaning up and it will stay that way for a month. i thought you were out of a building come monday? so maybe you're just using it as a figure of speech?

and a full tank of gas? woah... can't remember the last time i saw you with one of those.

Apparently, from what I've gathered, we've leased the building to some auction house. We are sub-leasing a small(er) portion of the office space back from the auction guy for a limited period of time. They've been walking around, looking at the building and I keep hearing them speculate on how soon we'll be out of there so they can take over the rest of the offices. And I know through the rumor mill that Dauphine will cease to be a viable entity approximately mid-February. It is possible that they will want me to work beyond that date to help "wind-down" the company, but I'm not counting on that. Like I said earlier, they haven't said a word about any of this directly to me...I'm getting this all second and third-hand. Which sucks.

And as far as the gas tank goes...one full tank of gas WILL get me through a week. Or rather it should, unless or until someone - who shall remain nameless - swipes my vehicle to drive to Zachary or Timbuktu or somewhere even further, then returns it with just fumes in the tank. Grrrr.
