I saw my friend Raechel do this on her LastFM and I really liked the idea. I told her she was a freakin' genius. I haven't been to very many, so this is quite the dismal list.

Updated 7 - 31 - o8

Band : The Killers
Venue : Wiltern LG, CA *
Date : 1o - o6 - o6
Price : $35.00 ( boooo )
Openers : emigrant (????)
Sample Set List : "Indie Rock n' Roll" --- "Somebody Told Me"
Star Rating : ☆☆☆
Opinion : They were pretty fun performers. Or, should I say, Brandon Flowers is a good performer. The set list was really good, the danceability was there. They seemed like a bubble on stage away from the crowd however.

Band : Blaqk Audio
Venue : Grand Ballroom, NY *
Date : 9 - o7 - o7
Price : $27.00 ( bah hum )
Openers : none
Sample Set List : "Semiotic Love" --- "Stiff Kittens"
Star Rating : ☆☆☆
Opinion : Very lively. The venue was nice once again. I was extremely out of place though, as the whole "Davey Havok"-fankid scene wasn't mine....if you get my drift. Davey is a fun performer.

Band : Clap Your Hands Say Yeah!
Venue : Blender Theatre @ Gramarcy, NY *
Date : 9 - 11 - o7
Price : $15.00
Openers : Muscles, The Teeth
Sample Set List : "Satan Said Dance" --- "Is This Love?"
Star Rating : ☆☆☆☆
Opinion : Very fun concert! Besides the fact I saw Natalie Portman there (hurrhurr) I really liked the venue, and Clap Your Hands were sooo fun. They were colorful, they were quirky, and they were totally enjoyable. The music was continuously medium to upbeat, and Alec Ounsworth is suchhhh a cute singer.

Band : Hugo Wolf Quartett
Venue : Mandeville Auditorium, CA
Date : 1o - 12 - o7
Price : Freeee
Openers : none
Sample Set List : ???
Star Rating : ☆☆
Opinion : A concert for my MMW class. I like classical music, and a string quartett was very beautiful to listen to. The dark dark lighting mixed with the group's affinity towards slower paced music made me sleepy though.

Band : Over It
Venue : Porter's Pub, CA
Date : 1o - 17 - o7
Price : Freeee
Openers : Everyday Tragedy, Drew Alexander
Sample Set List : ???
Star Rating : ☆☆
Opinion : Not a fan of Over It. Not many people were there. I didn't have fun during the concert (not really dancey music) but I had fun before and after when I met the band members.

Band : Architecture in Helsinki w/ Glass Candy
Venue : House of Blues (SD), CA
Date : 11 - o2 - o7
Price : $13.00
Openers : none
Sample Set List : "Do the Whirlwind" --- "The Cemetary"
Star Rating : ☆☆☆☆☆
Opinion : Amazing. Made of sex. I wanted to die happy.

Band : Of Montreal
Venue : Mandeville Auditorium, CA
Date : 11 - 1o - o7
Price : $15.00
Openers : MGMT, Grand Buffet
Sample Set List : "Rapture Rapes the Muses" --- "Oslo in the Summertime"
Star Rating : ☆☆☆☆☆
Opinion : OMFG. So fun. So colorful. So fun to watch. So fun to dance to. Ohhhh awesome.

Band : Daphne Loves Derby
Venue : Porter's Pub, CA
Date : 11 - 15 - o7
Price : Freeee
Openers : Josh DiMago, 5 Star Fallout
Sample Set List : I have noooo clue.
Star Rating : ☆
Opinion : Boring. Acoustic. I wasn't even interested in DLD in the first place. If I'm going to listen to mellow music, it had better at least be from a band I like. I was waiting to go home, and it couldn't have ended soon enough.

Band : Adam Wagner
Venue : Cafe Roma, CA
Date : 1 - 14 - o8
Price : Freeee
Openers : ????
Sample Set List : I have noooo clue.
Star Rating : ☆
Opinion : He was not that great at all. Well, he is a student here at UCSD so I guess that would explain why. Whatever.

Band : Dave Elkins of Mae
Venue : Porter's Pub, CA
Date : 1 - 15 - o7
Price : Freeee
Openers : The Envy Corps, We Shot the Moon
Sample Set List : I have noooo clue.
Star Rating : ☆☆
Opinion : The only thing saving this dreadfully long acoustic show was the performance done by the opener The Envy Corps. I thought they were amazing, very Modest Mouse. The others were meehhhh.

Band : The Federation
Venue : UCSD, CA
Date : 2 - 29 - o8
Price : Freeee
Openers : Reeve Oliver, Young Love
Sample Set List : I have noooo clue.
Star Rating : ☆☆
Opinion : Reeve Oliver was alright. They weren't memorable. Young Love were pretty good, they really knew how to get the crowd going. I really enjoyed the moshing, even if it wasn't intense enough to "draw blood", as my boyfriend insists. The Federation....apparently really good. I don't care for hip hop, but I had fun relaxing backstage and taking pixs.
Band : The Raveonettes
Venue : The Glass House in Pomona, CA
Date : 3 - 1 - o8
Price : $16
Openers : Be Your Own Pet
Sample Set List : "Love in a Trashcan" -- "You Want the Candy"
Star Rating : ☆☆☆☆☆
Opinion : SO AMAZING. Be Your Own Pet had so much energy, although the crowd didn't respond accordingly. They were so so soo friendly to the crowd. The Raveonettes were aloof; very standoffish but they were fantastic performers. Sharin Foo was so adorable, she smiled all the time and was sweet about responding to our cat calls. Overall, a great dancetastic night.

Band : Saves the Day
Venue : Price Center @ UCSD, CA
Date : 3 - 14 - o8
Price : Freeeee
Openers : Normal Like You, Future of the Ghost
Sample Set List : ??????
Star Rating : ☆☆
Opinion : I was so bored at Saves the Day, I literally left in mid-show. D: Normal Like You were pretty fun guys, they knew how to be extremely theatrical. Future of the Ghost had a lot of technical issues, but I guess they were alright. (although a lot less interesting than Normal Like You.)

Band : Tokyo Police Club
Venue : The Glass House in Pomona, CA
Date : 3 - 25 - o8
Price : $16
Openers : We Barbarians, Eagle Seagull
Sample Set List : "Be Good" -- "Citizens of Tomorrow"
Star Rating : ☆☆☆☆☆
Opinion : Everything about the show was great! In particular, TPC had great lighting effects to go with the music, and they were really great live. I was also really surprised by how awesome the openers were. We Barbarians I liked the least of all three, but still liked quite a bit. (very Arcade Fire) and Eagle Seagull prompted a "Must download" lightbulb in my head. The night was way too enjoyable, I was sad it had to end.

Band : SunGod festival (Aquabats, Matt Costa, the Muslims, Sean Kingston, Coheed & Cambria)
Venue : RIMAC field, UCSD campus
Date : 5 - 16 - o8
Price : Freeee
Openers : n/a
Sample Set List : "Pool Party (Aquabats)" -- "Welcome Home (C&C)"
Star Rating : ☆☆☆
Opinion : Aquabats, for what little time I could catch of them, were by far the best of the night. They were fun, they were loud, they knew how to work the audience really well, and their music is also just all sorts of fun. Matt Costa was slightly boring, good to listen to but that's about it. The Muslims were alright, they were good live. Sean Kingston can go die in his own conceited vomit, and C&C were really good live. It was fun moshing and pushing people.

Band : Beirut
Venue : Wiltern LG
Date : 5 - 30 - o8
Price : $25(price) / $12 (paid)
Openers : Devon Williams, The Brunettes
Sample Set List : "Elephant Gun (Beirut)" -- "A Sunday Smile (Beirut)" -- "B-A-B-Y (Brunettes)"
Star Rating : ☆☆☆☆☆
Opinion : Absolutely amazing. Brunettes were really fun and cute, and when they opened up with "B-A-B-Y", they danced along with it as well! So so cute. And Beirut...they blew my mind away. I seriously felt like I wanted to cry from how beautiful Zach Condon's voice was and how amazing the music was.

Band : Lightspeed Champion
Venue : The Glass House @ Pomona
Date : 6 - 22 - o8
Price : $15
Openers : Flowers Forever
Sample Set List : "Susanne (Weezer cover)" -- "Tell Me What It's Worth"
Star Rating : ☆☆☆☆
Opinion : Dev's performance was spot on. And of course he performed his well-known random covers. (I have a small compilation of all the covers he's done.) By far the highlight of the night was the moment he said "Happy Birthday" to me, and then later on proceeded to play his own version of the Star Wars theme. It was amazing, and I was disappointed I came too late to see Flowers Forever.

Band : San Diego Street Scene : The Muslims, Hot Chip, Nortec Collective Bostich + Fusible, The New Pornographers, TV on the Radio, Cat Power, Justice, Beck
Venue : Downtown San Diego
Date : 9 - 19 - o8
Price : $74
Openers : n/a
Sample Set List : "Over & Over" (Hot Chip) -- "Use It" (New Pornographers) -- "Staring at the Sun" (TV on the Radio) -- "D.A.N.C.E." (Justice) -- "El Perdedor" (Beck)
Star Rating : ☆☆☆☆☆
Opinion : A whole night of amazing. I could not get over how awesome the shows were. The Muslims were surprisingly good, a lot better than I remember them from SunGod this year. My two highlights would definitely be Hot Chip and TV on the Radio. Both made me go crazy dancing and I couldn't stop, and Hot Chip just had a great sound overall. (TV on the Radio's vocals were a wee bit drowned out....) Cat Power was the disappointment of the night. As beautiful as her voice was, they needed to fix the sound so that we could hear her more properly but her voice was still gone behind the bass and the guitars and drums. New Pornographers were also not too great live....but Beck was really a good show. He played great stuff, and instead of doing his Gameboy remixes he did his Ipod Touch remixes which was equally as awesome if it weren't for the dumb sound system. (Yes, again!) A pleasant surprise was the Nortec Collective Bostich + Fusible, which was like a mix of a mariachi band and techno lols.

Band : Sherwood
Venue : Porter's Pub
Date : ???
Price : Freeee
Openers : ????
Sample Set List : ????
Star Rating : ☆☆
Opinion : They were alright. Not really my type of music, but it was somewhat fun to rock out to. The keyboardist is insane!

Band : Scary Kids Scaring Kids
Venue : ERC Green
Date : ???
Price : Freeee
Openers : I The Mighty, San Quinn, DJ Traxamillion
Sample Set List : ????
Star Rating : ☆☆
Opinion : I The Mighty were kinda fun. The guys themselves were damn friendly! Trax and San Quinn really got the crowd going nuts, but unfortunately not many people showed up. (I'd say only 300ish people showed up...) SKSK were fun, they knew how to get the crowd jumping around. But they weren't great. Good thing it was free. D:

Band : Coachella presents The Cure and other bands
Venue : Empire Field, Indio CA
Date : 4-19-09
Price : $120
Openers : Vivian Girls, No Age, Lykke Li, Peter Bjorn and John, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and The Kills
Sample Set List : "Eraser" (No Age), "Dance Dance Dance" (Lykke Li), "Young Folks" (Peter Bjorn and John), "Y Control" (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), "U R Fever" (The Kills)
Star Rating : ☆☆☆☆☆++
Opinion : Amazing day! Vivian Girls were mediocre with poor vocals. No Age was fun, but the music itself wasn't great. Lykke Li was a great performer with great sounds. Peter Bjorn and John were also great and had amazing collabs with random swedish girls and Lykke Li for Young Folks. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs were my highlight of the evening! Very fun, very nuts, and lots of madhouse moving and grooving. The Kills were fantastic live, like they are damn talented. The Cure were also alright, but at that point I was exhausted.
