Just to let you know, you can't go from Type I or II to the other type. Type I means you were born diabetic (like me) because you either don't have a functioning pancreas or it's malfunctioning when you're born; type II means you were diagnosed later in life because your pancreas doesn't produce the insulin as effectively as it should. :) So, no worries about going from one type to the other, okay?
As for being worried about the diabetes in other ways, yes, that's something to be concerned about... The job you're taking on is pretty sedentary, and you'll want to watch what (and how much) you eat. You'll want to try to stick to a set schedule of regular meal-times as best you're able. More importantly, you'll want to be aware of the carbohydrate count in your meals even more than the actual sugar, sodium or calorie intake levels.
