Ride is pretty much settled, but I still don't know if we're stopping in Reno overnight or heading straight in...he's real bad about returning emails, plus I've given him my phone number twice and suggested that maybe a quick chat would resolve things quicker, but he never called...sigh

Neat thingie. Although I like steampunk, it's nice that not everything abstract technoarty has become Victoriana.

BTW: is Firefly another BurningMan kind of thing?

It is called "The Galaxy" and it rotates in many planes and has two fiberglass arms with LEDs which light up in patterns as written by that fellow there. It is pretty mesmerizing. The flash photo reveals more structural detail than anyone can see when it is moving and blinking. I'm thinking the aesthetic is more in the time of Tycho Brahe or Copernicus ( ... )
