Unfortunately, yes. It's been cancelled and the organization team has disbanded. (There were arguments among them and I believe it had something to do with funds.) There's a little bit of information on the World Steam Expo Facebook page.

There's another convention that's being started up over the same weekend though! "Up in the Aether Con" (At the Double Tree in Dearborn, very close to the Hyatt!)

That's really too bad. The expo had evolved into a well-organized and fun event, I thought, and I hate to see it go.

Thanks for the information about the Aether Con. I've already reserved a room for it.

Me too. It'll be interesting to see how many of the vendors/talent this new convention can bring back.

Yes, unfortunately WSX is no more, but the folks who have brought you the monthly Up in the Aether gatherings and the folks from Aegis are coming together to put on Up in the Aether ~ The Convention!

Please let others know that the Metro Detroit steampunk community will be bringing you a great weekend!

I'd certainly like to know more about the Detroit group. I live on the west side of the state, and there isn't much to do, steampunkwise, around here.

The new convention sounds like it'll be fun.
