Between my friends in and out of school, everyone's been so awesome to me. I seriously never knew how much people cared about me, and how genuinely happy people would be for me. It's amazing! <3
Today was like a celebration! The kids were so good, we got a lot done, and they must have thought all the teachers were going crazy for the amount I was hugging everyone, they were hugging me, and I was bouncing up and down! We also had an hour practice for tomorrow's Flag Day festivities (hosted and performed by Grade 2, featuring a verse of "Proud to Be an American" sung by yours truly!). And, at the end of the day, we had an hour of fun with a performance by a clown from the Big Apple Circus!
More organizing. It feels so good to put things away and clean up, ready to do my thing next year. <3

Oh, God, this is a hard one.
First, I was going to go with Simba - young Simba, to be exact.
Then, I realized that much as I enjoy The Lion King, I think that my liking for Simba might have more to do with my childhood crush on Jonathan Taylor Thomas (and all the baby Simba stuff we used to have for my baby brother, born in summer 1994 :) ) than anything else. ;D
I think maybe my favorite might be Abu. I love how they were able to give him so much personality without ever having him "talk". He's rather selfish most of the time, but my favorite parts are when he's guilted into doing things or sharing. I love how you can tell that he's happy to have done it despite himself. He reminds me a lot of the kids I teach in that sense - silly little monkeys with great hearts, some still learning to do what's right for the sake of doing what's right. <3 It's something abstract that's not innate - it has to be learned through experience. And I think Abu goes through that, too. :)
