Credibility within Medical Field

Earlier this week I saw my doctor. He suggested a prescription for Claritin (generic: loratidine). I'd tried it once before and wasn't overly impressed, but the doctor told me it was okay to take two tablets. That must have been more than a little frustrating! I think we're beginning to see the effects of crazy patenting and medical marketing worldwide. In the UK, you have local NHS trusts and the rules (and dominant pharmaceutical companies) vary from area to area. When I moved here, the meds I was on weren't scheduled for that particular usage in the particular area I was in and I had to stop taking it. Had I lived in another area or had another diagnosis, I could have got it.
