Free pattern = happy

Check it out! I saw this link posted the other day and was thrilled because they have a free pattern for an S curve corset! Woohoo! I printed it out today for about $4 at a copy shop. I can't wait to make my first S curve corset :)

I haven't started sewing this pattern yet, but I plan to sew a smaller seam allowance than what the pattern shows to add a little bit more in size for a mock up fit. From there I will decide how the pattern needs to be altered. I would suggest the same for you. Maybe even trace another quarter inch outside of the seam allowance lines and see how that fits. There are no marks on this pattern for where the waist hits so I like the idea of doing a mock up that I can draw on to determine where each piece hits on my body and then alter as needed.

The first corset I ever made was just to avoid the cost of buying one. I had NO sewing skills what-so-ever! It turned out ok... mixture of sewing and a hot glue gun. But practice makes perfect. I found a passion in the process.
