One thing that bewilders me about getting older is the realization that the age gap that once existed between me and professional athletes, guys I grew up admiring and once upon a time tried to emulate, is almost completely gone. I've got a year and a half on you, and I'm kinda feeling that way too. Like other people had accomplished more by this age, but then again, I never needed a gymnastics gold medal when I was 15. I was lucky I hadn't killed myself by then. And I'm not doing that badly: I have a friend with a BA from one of the top 10 liberal arts colleges in the country and he's worked at Trader Joe's for five years; another friend with the same degree from the same college and is 32 works at the Wherehouse.

I'm turning 28 in March and I'm already not dealing with it very well. For some reason 28 seems so fucking old and it's stressing me out.

Sweet! I really admire your enthusiasm to make 28 great -- and to set these by-30 goals! I find myself just slipping into a useless depressed state when I think about every year nudging me further into adulthood (if that makes sense?!). So uh, that's not very productive at all. Anyway, it's just good to have things to strive for, even when you are happy and content in life!

I was just watching a Nirvana thing the other day and floored that I was older than Kurt Cobain.. which is NUTS.. seriously, I feel like he is older than me and is some adult figure
