I guess the synopsis I read put her name in the credits for no reason. I was sort of prepared for this happening. I had a bit of hope though. Oh well :(. I'm getting impatient too. It's not fair!
I really liked the main storyline of this ep-- the fire drill, Michael stressing people out, the roast. I thought the Pam and Jim thing was boring. I really found it hard to care. I thought the movie thing was just weird. Like, why tout all these stars and have them be in a stupid C storyline in which they don't even interact with any characters?
didn't you say melora was filming for the office right before starting chicago? does that mean she could appear in one of the next few episodes, perhaps
( ... )
She did say that. I'm still hoping that means she appears in the next few eps. I don't know how far back they film.
If Jack Black had appeared as a character, it would have been fine. When I first heard Chloris Leachman was going to be in the episode, I was wondering if she was going to play Michael's mom or someone like that. I guess The Office doesn't really do celebrity casting (although they did have Amy Adams, but before she was famous).
another thought - maybe jan was in the episode, but it got cut for time? it would have been so easy for michael to run into her at the park. maybe we'll see her in a deleted scene. i'm grasping at straws here!
It would have been easy for him to run into her at the park, but that would have taken the episode to a different place and made it about Michael and Jan, which it clearly wasn't. I can understand why she didn't show up at the park. As much as I wanted to see her, it didn't seem like the right time for M/J.
Even though I knew that the synopsis was wrong that Melora was supposed to be in it, I was still thinking that maybe, just MAYBE she'll be there in the park. Then after wards, when she wasn't, I was thinking that this, in my opinion, would make for a GREAT fic idea...'What if Jan DID show up at the park?' or even at the roast? Lol..anyways, just something to think about.
