I think the ass-turd thing (if true) must be baby names related, with Michael pontificating on potential nicknames kids would give the Janling. Like if she chose Astrid or Astor or something to that effect. I could easily see Michael irking the hell out of Jan with his opinions on name choices, so maybe it's not as awful as it would seem (but then again...).

Another thought: He misspells the name Astrid (Astird) on some birth certificate form. Just guessing here.
