I think that it's important to remember that she messaged you, so she obviously wants to get to know you and hang out with you. You're both old enough, I think, that the age difference shouldn't be as much of an issue as it would have been when you were younger.

I can definitely understand being nervous, but don't let it hold you back from reconnecting with someone you could truly come to love and cherish.

As for "Will she really be my 'sister' anyway," it might be a bit cliche, but I think it's a matter of the heart and how you both come to accept eachother. Of course she won't be the kind of sister who has always been there, but she could be the kind who will be there from now on.

...forgive me if I sound preachy or something. That's just my two cents.
