Since we've already ranted about all of this together (and will probably do more ranting, heh) I just want to say again that I think your boss is a lunatic, plain and simple. She needs to retire, but we both know she's the kind of person who won't retire until she winds up dead at her desk. *Sighs*

We will see about the lock. I'm going to TRY and approach the council (I know I know, evil council) about it today. Also, I'm going to make a large sign for my door and hopefully that deter some nyar-do-wells.
BTW, I LOVES yer Raphy icon ;) ♥♥ When you get all your "color adjusted" icons finished and uploaded, you should announce it on your LJ so people who D/Led and used your icons can re-download them :)
That's such bullshit! I hate it when people mess with things at my desk, too, and if I found someone had actually taken something without permission (even if they had left 2 dollars, lol), I would take a lot of measures to ensure it didn't happen again. You can try a number of things, but whether or not they'll work in the end is up in the air.
1.) Send your boss a detailed e-mail explaining your situation, and ask that in the event of not being able to acquire a key, if she could suggest another possible way of keeping people out of your office when you're not there. You need to make sure your work items are secure just as she needs to worry the accounting desk is kept secure.
2.) You can take matters into your own hands, and make a sign for your door requesting that no one enter on the grounds that you are not present in the office.
3.) You can be more forcefull and kickass and get a lock for your door anyway like soliloquy suggeted. :D *thumbs up*
1) Well... about my boss and email... hmm... how shall I put this? Well, this little story deserves an entire entry (I shall edit and link it when I finish up writing it this afternoon)
