Stop overreacting. It's undignified.

...nevermind. I suppose that's just you.

Where the Hell are you? Do you know what time it is? You know what's out there, Souji! Don't act like this is nothing to worry about!

Your hair is going to turn white from worrying, Hijikata-san.

Then you'll lose all those pretty women you chase after.

Maybe I'd have to start putting some effort in; I was hardly 'chasing' anyone back in those days.

If you want me to quit worrying, quit acting like an idiot.

He was with me. You really don't have to worry.

...Hm.

If that's the case, why didn't you just TELL me you were going somewhere? Shook me a little, said a damned thing about it, and let me go back to sleep instead of waiting for me to wake up without him there?

You've been working very hard, I thought it was better to let you sleep. Besides, I didn't think you'd be up until long after I brought him back.

Is that so?

...I go back to sleep easily. I have to, if I'm to get any rest.

They're right, you know. You have to have some faith in him.

...I have plenty of faith in him. More than anyone else I know.

But he's a kid right now. He might not have acted the least bit like one back then, he might be more skilled than any other nine-year-old, but he doesn't have the training, the discipline, or the common sense that he does later on. And even when he's grown up, we're used to being just about the strongest swordsmen around. We're not used to all this magic and so on.

I trust him, but that doesn't mean I can't worry about him when he doesn't have the sense to slip out at a decent hour.

There's a difference between worry and panic, Hijikata-san.

I wasn't panicking.
