My cousin has gone into Gaza. And my best friend's brother. And, like, half the sons of our teachers at school. Nobody seems to sleep any more these days, everyone's worried sick about their loved ones, walking around in a sort of massive communal nightmare.

Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck.

It may be disgustingly selfish of me, but I'm so glad my older ( Read more... )

My youngest cousin was stationed in the north just a day before they started calling for the reserves to Gaza. Now we're just hoping they won't bother with my other cousins.

DDD: I hope he comes home soon! Urgh, all the מילואימניקים are being called and everything. It's such a bad business.

Your icon perfectly captures how I feel right now. sjdfhsdk damnit.

Ditto. But hey, most of the grown-ups I've been around think it won't escalate any further; after all, it wasn't the Hizbollah that did it (or so they say). The main thing I'm worried about is that the Hammas will get feisty in Gaza now that they think they've got some backing from outside. Might be harder to reach a ceasefire that way.

Urgh, I don't get those debates, see-how can there even be a right and wrong side? It's war, not a fucking chess club. Everyone thinks they're in the right, or doing what is necessary, or that their actions are crucial to their survival. The only difference being, I think, that Israel acts out of humanitarian interest, in response to the Hamas. The Hamas act out of a desire to kill all Israelis and abolish their country, while they instigated the whole fiasco in the first place. But then, that's why they're a terrorist organization we're the Israeli Defence Force (note "Defence"). Except none of the big Western nations seem to realize that. sdjfhksdjf POLITICAL RAGE.

Ahem. That said, thank you for your concern. It means a lot to me, even just knowing someone's wishing for our well-being from afar. Fingers crossed and everything.
