I am heart broken.

All of her stunning essays on the arts of fiction and writing, and most importantly on Compassion and Responsibility in writing.

I have the gist of it in my heart, but I wish I had copied and saved her words.

So sad right now.

Was this recent? I thought she got rid of her LJ quite some time ago.

I'm not sure. I know she stopped posting new entries in 2010 I think it was. But her profile and links to all her writing meta were left up and intact. I'd visit from time to time just to see if there was anything new up or to link people to her essays when it seemed relevant. I just happened to be doing that day before yesterday and found that her account had been purged. It felt like such a shock.

How have you been btw?

I'm so sorry for the late reply. I was packing up for a big move.
She was a good writer and gave some great advice. I wonder if you could send her an email on ffnet and ask if she can send you an email of her essays.

Things are good. I moved last week and am almost unpacked. All the pets are pretty well settled.

Something must be in the water. Half my family is changing residence this spring/summer, yours truly included.

What I find most sad about the long drawn out dying of livejournal is exactly this - the loss of those whose words you admired, whose thoughts both thrilled and inspired. Especially those who just disappear, taking it all with them and leaving no trace behind.

My condolences on your loss.

It's true. People seem to be less and less active on this platform. I'm not sure why. Distracted by new ones? In all honesty, I spend more time on tumblr and twitter these days. But anything important or deeply thought I still post here.

I actually messaged Min through her fanfiction account. She said that lj purged her stuff, because the account was inactive for so long. Bummers. But she has very kindly sent me a zip of the files that she still had on her hd. I'm so grateful.
