I've always found it easier to write Jono and Angelo as friends than lovers, but I think you did an excellent job here.

I can completely understand - not sure I'd try it again, but I'm glad that it took writing this to come to that decision. I'm quite pleased with how it turned out and I'm that you enjoyed it, too. Thanks x

Is it wrong that I am now almost desperately wondering who Bobby fooled around with ever so long ago? lol

Seriously, great work, hun! Very nice!

Jono's playing a mind game here. Does he really know that Bobby fooled around with someone, or is he calling Bobby's bluff? I think I wrote it with Jono making the assumption about Bobby's experience with a guy and saying it out loud to test how he'd react. But it's just as likely that he's somehow unearthed one of Bobby's darkest secrets and is teasing him with it.

Thanks for the comment, very much appreciated!

This is hot. I wish I knew Skin better, I'm only vaguely familiar with him. So I have no opinion on the friends vs lovers thing. But this painted a strong enough mental picture that not knowing him well didn't hurt my read.

Your Jono greatly pleases me. You somehow take the missing mouth and turn it into so much characterization--the smirk that isn't there, but is clearly a smirk. Saying he chuckles, that is worlds of effective. It forced me to stop and picture his face, without making me think about the fact that I was stopping to visualize it. I think I had the same reaction with the Jono/Jubilee. He's in such casual control here, and the way he knows how to push an uncomfortable Bobby just as much as he needs... it's good. I never really got hot and bothered about Jono in canon, but this is doing it for me. Thumbs up.

The truth? I don't know a lot about most characters from actually having read the damned comics. It comes from the little I know, the stuff I have to read online and from fanon.

I've read about 40 issues of Generation X as that's all I've been able to get my hands on thus far - although I am buying some more today. Even still, that will only get me up to about issue 80 with some gaps between. But still, I love what I've seen of Skin. He's cool. And far more tragic than Jono. And who can resist a tragic mutant with a cool exterior ( ... )

Closet case pussy? Mmmm. No, I don't think so. No more so than any other nervous been-straight-till-now character in a slash fic, anyway.

I did not even know who Paige is, and this makes me sad. I had to wiki her just to find out her code name is Husk. Gen X is the one comic I really have not read a shred of. Is Hellion in it at all?

Good. Lovely little Bobby :)

Hee, Paige. One of a thousand Guthries. Gen X is one of the few that I actually know a little bit about! As far as I know, no Hellion. I think he arrived later in Marvel canon? Not sure, I'm afraid, as I know nothing about Hellion! But the kids in Gen X were Synch, Jubilee, Husk, Skin, M, Chamber and then there was all this confusion with two characters called Penance and Mondo... I won't even begin to explain as it's a twisty-turny tale!

Even though I don't know Skin or Chamber, been away from comix for yeeaarrrssssss, but I "got" the tension and yearning and almost-could-have-beens.
Thank you for sharing

I completely sympathise with the difficulty of making Angelo and Jono out to be lovers while still keeping them in character. Generation X has to be my favourite Marvel comic, and I've roleplayed Angelo for years; he's one of the few characters that I feel I know through and through, and despite all my attempts to slash him, it just doesn't never seems to work out. Particularly with Jono!

Still, I liked this, and it was a fun read! Throwing Bobby into the mix definitely made it more interesting.
