M's Office Hours, Thursday (04/05)

M was in her office, preparing the test for next week's class while talking on the phone to her assistant back in London. There were things she needed to be caught up on before she ended her sabbatical and returned to her "real" job.

She was also expecting a certain student who exhibited far too much enthusiasm about "spy stuff" for M's liking.

Annette was a little dour this morning when she knocked on M's door.

M raised an eyebrow as she rung off her call and motioned Annette inside.

"You look less excited than I expected, Hargrove. Has something happened?"

"Kind of," she answered politely, moving to take a seat across from M's desk. Hopefully M didn't mind that, but Annette just really wanted to sit down.

That was what M had put the chair there for anyway. She set her lips in a line and looked at Annette, trying to decide whether she really wanted to ask what could bothering a teenage girl.

Against her better judgement, she did.

"Personal or school-related?" M asked, with more sympathy than was probably apparent.
