Last week I did my motorbike CBT renewal. Good to have it out of the way. Before I did it I was a bit nervous of some of the slow speed manoeuvres, specifically the figure 8 and U-turn, so I practised them on the scooter on the flattish bit of road just by where I live. Is your scooter clutchless or something? Is your dyspraxia a factor here?
It's just a case of letting it out smoothly with enough revs, and you should be able to feel it bite and put in a little more throttle as it does (so you don't have to race the engine beforehand). Shouldn't take too much practice, just stick at it.
Or, of course, you could get a car instead... You might live longer!

The scooter is a simple twist & go. The CBT covers a lot: there's a full syllabus at https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/66075/dsa-cbt-syllabus-guidance-notes.pdf, all of which is usually covered in one day. I think I'll get it as long as I've got a bit more time to practice than the CBT allows. I'd like to get through it all before my insurance is up for renewal at the end of August, but just having the scoot for a year means the premium has dropped from £350 to a bit more than £200.
