There's the news going around now about how Livejournal's Russian owners laid off half the staff in LA: The Russian Bear Slashes a Social Network. Livejournal twittered about it and released a press release. As posted by beren_writes, news from CNet: LiveJournal deletes 'about a dozen' jobs. So no need to panic
