Nov 11, 2008 22:01

Hey party people. I'm O SO CLOSE to being done the next chapter of Dawning Light - the only hold-ups are Anita (she's not behaving in the way I want so I need to do a bit of re-writes on her reactions to the five-year-old) and my time this week being all booked up. But I'm SO CLOSE. I am really looking forward to that.

Next item of the agenda: ( Read more... )

fic: dawning light, youtube, fic: torchwood, fic: doctor who

Yay! I'm so happy to here that there will be more Dawning Light!

I really love both of those songs, although the hair is quite scary.

And very soon with the DL. It's a bit melodramatic, as told by a five-year-old, but very few tears and a happy ending of sorts to the chapter.

(if I can get Anita to behave)

Oh, I know how misbehaving characters can be. In my novel for NaNoWriMo, a golem, a witch, and a necromancer have all written themselves in the space of a thousand words or so. (Good times.) Just threaten Anita with the destruction of her stuffed penguins if she doesn't behave.

So bad and I can't believe I actually just watched that. yes the videos of the 80's were too bad for words and most of them made no sense. And yet we thought they were so cool! We were naive. LOL

You watched because it's like a train wreck - a tight-pants, mullet-haired train wreck.

I still can't believe the 80s went through a nostalgia phase (or still might be). I think the only consolidation is that the people wearing those clothes didn't live through it the first time.

First of all: Congratulations on your nomination!

Second: Remember "Flock of Seagulls"?, now there was a horrible video! Or the video for "Ghostbusters"? What about "Loverboy"?

But my candidate for worst music video ever? The one that started it all; "Video Killed the Radio Star" by the Buggles, it has all the hallmarks of cheesy 80's videos. Bad hair, bad glasses, lousy special effects, pretty incomprehensible, and the song will stick in your head for days.

here's the link, if you want to watch it, I dodn't think you'd want me to embed a video in your comments.
Thank you for letting me rant ;)

but... why is that woman in the tube? And is that child stoned?

I think we can agree that the 80s should be firmly locked away.

I'm going to watch the rest tomorrow. Probably at work while I'm procrastinating :)

if you're really bored, search youtube for "muchmusic fromage" it's this show they used to do every year, showcasing the worst of that year's videos, it used to be the highlight between Xmas and New Year's.

But you do realize the significance of that Buggles video - It was the first one ever shown on MTV - it's a piece of cheesy 80s history!

Ah... The good old days, when MTV actually played videos.

Though, if you're talking about true 80s cheese, there has to be a mention of Devo's "Whip It". That hats alone should rocket it twoards the worst video spot. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rxH39QlRuhg
