OH wow. Loved this!! So glad I just got into House so I could appreciate the deliciousness of Cuddy being an activated Slayer.

Also - any fic with Faith is a fic I will happily read, even without knowing all the fandoms! :D

I'm glad you enjoyed this! The idea would not leave me alone until I wrote it. The idea of Cuddy being one of the Chosen Ones... priceless :D Actually, this whole thing stemmed from me wracking my brain as a way to get Faith into the House world. Because, as we all know, anything with Faith is the best thing ever.

Heeeee, you're writing _House_ fic. What fun. This is only the second House/Buffy crossover I've read, but I think that the 'verses are amusingly compatible.

I fear I'm having canonical issues with this one, though - none of the called Slayers were older than 20 or so, and Cuddy is at least 40. Still, I think you got Cuddy's voice right.

House is fun. The underlying plot threads, all with crazy, psychosomatic-inducing story lines. Plus, I love Hugh Laurie.

Do we know that none of the Potentials/Slayers were older than 20? All the ones we saw were young, true, but has it been canonically stated that Buffy was the oldest ever? (Upcoming comics don't count, at least not yet :) While I agree with you on that angle, that it's unlikely, is it impossible?

And even if it's not possible, it's still fun :D

Hmmm... good question. I'm 7 episodes into season 7 (I've seen much but not all of it before, and am now trying to be systematic), and thus haven't gotten to any mini-slayer exposition yet.

I think it was once stated that Buffy was maybe the second oldest ever ... unless I'm crossing canon with Yahtzee's fics accidentally in my head. Nikki Wood didn't seem more than late twenties, but I haven't gotten to those flashbacks yet in my DVD viewing, so I'm going on old memories of the original broadcast. Also, I have no idea how old she was when she was Called.

And I just saw all of _Conversations with Dead People_ for the first time - wow! Just thought I'd share.

And definitely fun. :-)

I'm pretty sure that "Buffy the oldest Slayer ever" is fanon not canon, but even if it is it doesn't preclude Cuddy being called post-Chosen. When Slayers are called "normally" (i.e. pre-Chosen) there would be a definite incentive to make sure that the one that was called was in the peak of physical fitness, young enough to be easily trainable but old enough to do some damage. That means mid-late adolescence. Take in the short lifespan, and voila, Buffy survives to be the oldest slayer ever. But all the Potentials who weren't called pre-Chosen would have grown up and grown older normally. Chosen happens, all Potentials are activated, and we're not told if any of the specific conditions (such as age) that were included in the original activation "spell" (or whatever you want to call it) are still in place. Given the hurried nature of Willow's spell and the emergeny situation and the fact that it's not like they had the original spell to use as a template, I'd be highly surprised if specific conditions like that made it into the ( ... )
