Wow. I am completely blown away. This is fantastic, in a dark and disturbing way. Poor Inara. I am really looking forward to watching the Serenity crew kick some ass, for sure. And Inara's reaction to being amongst sidhe again...fascinating possibilities. This is just yummy, you know that? Whee!

Sometimes, I do wonder at myself.

The next part (this one only has the two) will be Inara's POV. We will see how she deals with what happened, and exactly who that signal went to. I'm making things up wholescale about the Companion Guild, because I can.

And yes, Inara among the sidhe... specifically, we'll get to see Merry and Doyle and all our friends. And even some of those not our friends. The next Inevitable chapter will come first, but then this second part will be out next week.

I'm so happy I watched FireFly or I would have been so lost I swear. Damn I cant wait to see how (or even if) Inara explains this. Poor Inara

Half of writing a crossover is assuming your audience knows the fandom, while the other half is including enough information that anyone who doesn't know the famdom can carry along. More people know Firefly, so I hope to pull them in with that :)

Yeah, "poor Inara" doesn't quite cover it.

Oh, I do love this. Particularly River, even though it's not about her - her voice is just right. She's sane here, just not quiet transmitting on the same wavelength as anyone else.

Eagerly awaiting the next part!

Something I thought people would pick up on, even though I was the subtlest person ever with it, was that River wasn't River. She was Serenity, which is why she was able to pull her stuff together and get things done.

See, I outsmart myself sometimes.

Thank you. Inara needs time to heal her body and her mind, and removing her from the familiar environment will either make or break her. I'm willing to bet it's not break, and since I'm the author... well, you know.

I was originally going to do this chapter from multiple POVs, but really, Mal can see it all, it's in his role as Leader to watch his people and respond accordingly. Also, they were able to see him and deal with him in ways that showed their own thoughts. But yeah, Mal.
