Here's my too-complex-for-three-hours contribution to this challenge. Despite the length, which I don't know how happened, it remains pretty condensed since the idea stretches over a longer period of time before and during Peace Walker, not to mention all the partial issues I didn't have time to get into if I wanted this to retain any coherence on

I don't know why I decided to make the whole deal with Zero even more emotionally charged than it already was, but it worked too well not to give it a shot. (Mwahaha, I like to remind people Zero has actually done a few nice things in his long life.) Glad my BB and Kaz worked for you as well!

How? I DON'T KNOW. I sat down and things happened. (To be fair, I couldn't have proofread it all during the first session, so I was pretty relieved to find out post-production edits were okay. XD) I'm usually all about super-condensed writing, so I was like "WHAT IS THIS".

AKHJGSF OUDE THIS WAS WONDERFUL. You mentioned this idea a while back and when I read the summary I actually gave a squeal of excitement haha. I love love love the whole thing, especially how it could plausibly fit into canon. And all the characters are so well-written - the tension between Zero, BB and Kaz is great.

I could write more but I'd end up waffling and then just degenerate into ahgfdhgjsfg <3

asdghg WELL, I don't know how to do justice to this comment! The summary was a pain to think up so it's good to know it actually got you into the fic, so to speak. XD I'm also very glad the whole thing worked - I wanted to keep it as close to canon as possible and not just have it be all about the one point regarding Kaz. Glad you found the characterization fitting as well!

Ohhhh, I remember how you mentioned this idea before and let me tell you, this turned out incredibly awesome ♥ I really like this take on this, but what I like most of all his how spot-on the characterization is! For all of them. And I know this is shallow of me but dayumm the fade to black sexy scene is indeed very sexy.

Thank you, all of this is really good to know! They're fun characters for me to write in any scenario, so I'm glad they're recognizable. For how long I'd entertained this idea, it pretty much wrote itself in the end. XD And nothing shallow here; I wrote that scene to be appreciated after all!

Burning with inspiration was probably the only way to get it written this fast. XD Glad I've managed to surprise you <3 I definitely wanted Sigint and Para-Medic to come up since they get very little screen time in general and it's interesting to look at their relation to Zero. I've headcanoned the "mutual benefits" thing for how Zero chooses his team so hard, though it's too bad for Kaz he doesn't really do it for "free" by PW.

Thank you! Even if it's not usual, this is a case in point that it can be done with minimal canon-stretching.
