Ow, awesome. This is a fantastic probe into Ocelot's motives and his past with BB and how it shapes the series (I know we've had a ton of talks about that but hey, can't point it out enough!). So perfectly between meta and a heartbreaking character study.

(And it's always nice to see fics that show Mantis doing what he's good at.)

Very, very well done.

Jeez and I forgot to say: A MILLION POINTS TO YOU FOR REFERENCING THE SYMPOSIUM. Classics geekery, yes. And how apt.

LITERATURE GEEKERY FTW.

I'm glad you liked it, the idea just wouldn't leave me alone, I MUST BACKSTORY ALWAYS.

Oh. Oh Ocelot ;A;

"I'll die before you," Ocelot said, - STOP MAKING ME CRY DAMNIT ;A; but damn, that was good. That line in particular took about 30 seconds to sink in and then BAM waterworks /wimp

AND JUST A;DSJHFALKSJDGFASGDFASJD'FLAJSD ilu for writing this forever /incoherent

Gorgeous. I love it. More people need to write Mantis-getting-into-Ocelot's-head stories.

mantis is just...the perfect narrative device, he's like something out of a Greek play. And the great thing about him is that he never tries to reason with or interpret what he sees because it just is /tangent

I'm glad you liked it! :)
