I don't know about anyone else, but I really liked this. ^^ You made the best of a really awkward situation, and I think you've got good insight into the characters. The ending broke my heart a little, though...you just know horrible things are going to happen to Liquid after this.

And the comic was adorable!

Thanks. Yeah, I felt a little cold about the way the story ended, I need to tidy it up just a little. I'm glad you think the characters are behaving more or less naturally. That's something I really try to work on.

I LOLed at the comic! Lovely fic, too - it's not easy to fit interaction between these two into canon, but you kept it IC and interesting - stuff about Otacon set in the Meryl ending is kinda rare; his feelings here seemed believable.

I appreciate this a ton. To be honest, I hadn't ever *seen* most of the Meryl ending (really only Otacon's final speech to Snake) so I had to go back and do some viewing to see what I could work with.

I don't really think I'm done with this. Ideally I'd like to bookend the story by returning to the present/MGS2 timeline for a paragraph or two- but I didn't have any content in mind by the deadline, so I guess that would just be for my own personal satisfaction.
