I have only just been able to sit down and read this in its entirety but I think I literally squealed in excitement as soon as I saw it on my flist page.

I think my favourite part is Meryl looking through all the candid photos of Para-Medic XD I can just imagine him pulling out the photo album from time to time and just ~admiring them~ the old perv. I really think you hit the nail on the head with Meryl's reaction to the whole thing - I can't say I have much experience with eight year olds but her bluntness is just so believeable to me - especially at the end when she asks if he's really, absolutely sure Para-Medic wasn't his girlfriend.

I love the way Meryl so obviously admires Roy and the way he isn't overly affectionate with her but obviously cares for her as well. It's beautiful but at the same time so heartbreaking to see her hanging off his every word.

Oh, and
"And more than that: he could jump really high and run faster than anyone I ever met."
