I was so shocked to read the news today that Anita Roddick (founder of the Body Shop) passed away suddently today from a brain hemorrhage.

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a huge proponent of corporate social responsibility. Anita was a pioneer and a champion for these issues and a huge inspiration to me. I had the good fortune of meeting her at ( Read more... )

Hi- I was directed here by sistermoon. I'm a little shocked that there has been so little coverage of Anita's passing. To me she was such a major inspirational figure. Everything she did was infused with light. An amazing person. Meeting her was a joy. She's as great in person as she was in her books.

I completely agree! She is one of those rare,enlightened human beings that you aspire to emulate, but you know that you can't, because she just WAS. She couldn't help being anything but who she was.

I just found out yesterday that I have a friend who was really good friends with her. I spent 2-3 hours yesterday with her reminsicing stories about Anita. It was a nice informal vigil.
