I do something similar and it's not that hard, especially if you can get your butcher to thin slice the meat for you.

I have made something similar once (for cooking over an open fire!). It wasn’t horribly difficult, and, as you say, thinly sliced beef is key. Mostly I’m just too lazy to worry about making food pretty, and this deserves to pretty.
