Hello, Cousins! When I joined the Canteen I thought I would be posting more regularly, but my RL -- which has included things like my getting COVID and like my husband's impending surgery -- have kept getting in the way of my fannish interactions. Hope I can be more active here soon, but in the meantime I have this wonderment: I saw a Wikipedia

In the original MFU production notes, Napoleon’s military service was listed was “the Royal Canadian Navy” - which would lead to the assumption that he was Canadian. But take that with a grain of salt. The production notes also say he was on the swim team in college … and it’s pretty clear from the series that swimming wasn’t really one of his best skills.
