Form vs. Function in the Old Web

Unreviewed ramble ahead that will probably make me sound like a luddite but I have needed to get it off my chest for a while. This only really touches on my thoughts about it too. I don't feel "gragh rargh damn kids need to stop staring at their phones" but I don't think that bottoms out any possible criticism of what's going on with web media ( Read more... )

The primary problem of assuming one type of format or input type should apply to everything as opposed to using the more efficient one even if It's 'outdated'.

Neither format or function should be done away completely as both are needed is. Convenience has helped advance communication, but there's a place for the other stuff too. and it's sad to see others who never knew such a format not even be able to give it a chance to see if it helps with something they need
