I have no problem with him being upset about Sam not trying to find him; I'd be hurt, too. But Dean IS a dick. It doesn't mean he's an awful person, but he;s a total hypocrite. You don't get to quit hunting - whether someone asked you too or not - and then get upset when someone else does. It was a purposeless guilt trip that was just not how you greet someone after a year. Dean was even more incorrigible than he was returning from hell. I get that he had a tiring year, but it's just not nice, brotherly, or cool. It was a dick move.

As for Sam, yeah, I'm sure he was crushed; he is every time Dean dies (ignoring robo!Sam which was different anyway).

And as for Amelia, like I said to Rhyme, I was okay with the guilt trip she gave Sam, but actually giving a pet to a man who ran him over? Not the best decision. She's not my favorite so far. But then again, I've only ever liked Jess and Ruby of all Sam's gfs. And Ruby I liked less as a partner for Sam and more because she was a kickass demon.

Hmm, I didn't get that. Dean berates him for not hunting before the looking for him (or so I recall, I'd have to watch again to be sure). And Sam didn't look for Kevin, I thought that was the whole point...

Yeah, the dynamic was weird, I agree. To me it was because they've grown apart, even though its the age-old battle between them. How many times does Dean need to get mad at Sam for quitting something he NEVER wanted anyway? TBH, it reminds me too much of my mother and I and how she will never let me live down that I changed majors in undergrad and am not doing what she wanted me to do, 8 years later. Sam was right in that, people always die. Sam alone cannot save every single person. And hunting is torture for him, some times. For Dean to continue to blame him and get angry with him for not hunting is ridiculous and tiring.

But hey, like I said, at least that characterization manages to stay the same over 8 seasons.lol
