Mentalist Thoughts

I like The Mentalist more and more each week. Even the other characters besides Jane are growing on me. They're not too active yet, but they work well together, and we've gotten a few nice glimpses of their character via Jane's interaction with them. And Jane is just this wonderful guy that is a wholly good person, using the money he won ( Read more... )

Does anyone on my flist even watch The Mentalist?

Me, me, me.

But oh, how I laughed at what they think Davis looks like. I spent that entire episode oscillating between cooing over how fantastic Jane was with the baby and trying to remember if the Davis PD runs black and whites or blue and whites.

(Yeah, I've been kind of grooving on the show at least remembering there's a whole lot of state north of San Francisco, including the freaking capitol. Makes me want fic where they investigate someone dropped off the Elkhorn Bridge or something hinky in Chico or the team gets snowed in while in Alturas.)

I haven't got any of the three supporting cops' names memorized yet, but they're all quite clear and distinct from each other. It is one of those ensembles that is going to really gel and come into its own in a second or third season, I think.

I take it you're from northern CA? LOL I love it when shows do things in my area, but always laugh at them, too.

Definitely. I think it really is going to follow NCIS in that.

Born and bred.

I think it really is going to follow NCIS in that.

Since it is on CBS it might even have time to mature the way NCIS did. And I caught all their names this week: Van Pelt, Brisby and Cho!

Very true--CBS doesn't cut their shows quite as quick as other networks.

I haven't seen this weeks yet, but I can't wait!

I watch it and I love it! I'm a bit behind and just watched the episode with the gambling and the gifts and awesomenss. And do you remember him with the sand castle?

I've been thinking of Jane meeting Sam and Dean, and he doesn't believe there are real mediums out there, and the brothers know that there's so much more.

And every time Jane smiles, my heart melts a little.

And it's not the sort of thing where he acts all cheery and then turns into a glowering, melodramatic broody-pants at the drop of a hat; when melancholy hits it's more like a shadow that just sort of passes over him.

Very true. I do just really enjoy it. LOL lack of main!pain is good. ;) And yes, Simon is great.

Haha, me write it? I love that idea, but my time for writing is so...nonexistent. Maybe one day...:D

You should try it. Give it a few eps. It starts a little slow, but it grows on you.
