I love the density of these images. A doomed seer in a modern age. Is it a triumph for him that his fires were extinguished in exchange for flooding, or just an odd evolution of his prediction?

I would offer the criticism that, in its usage here, "lightening" means to make something weigh less. Without the "e" gives you the result you want.

Quite thought provoking piece.

But why was he trying to set all of the little bundles on fire with lightning? Why was he doing any of it? What purpose did it have??
