Holy cow, I didn't realize how darn good at drawing animals --real animals, too, not just fantasy ones-- Yoko Matsushita is... was! I'm actually very surprised at how well she drew animals, considering I hated how she drew people in the later volumes (and the early volumes...really, she peaked at about Book 6-8 and then started slipping again. XD) Come to think of it, she drew the dogs in Volume 2 pretty well, too, and her people were atrocious back then XD Ah well, lots of artists can draw animals but not people, and vice-versa.

I like her art best around volumes 6-8, too. Although 10's not bad either; she just seems to be slipping back to a "90's-ish" style... Hisoka's face starts to look like some character's from Slayers or something. Though it only seems like certain characters keep slipping; Tsuzuki and Muraki have been looking steadily better, I think.

For me, it seems like suddenly it became all angles. It was the same in the older volumes, except less disproportionate.
