...When you hurt so much...and you cry so hard, and so long... Your mind and body go out, give way to exhaustion, and then your brain releases adrenaline to keep you going, which CAN flood and make you laugh.
It makes you feel kind of like your mind has snapped... ...but you haven't.
Umm... maybe if you're the type of human being who "laughs" when you're uncomfortable/nervous?
If I cry to exhaustion, I either fall asleep or become delusional for a few days... (no I don't mean crazy delusional I just mean unable to process anything that's happening in the usual way)
