That's why history is the BEST EVER. Especially church history, it makes my life way better.

Man, good history books are hard to find--maybe I will see if I can get it from the library once I'm in a place with an English library.

Love gender history. I've actually be arguing in several essays recently that the whole patriarchal ideal, was just that, an ideal and not a reality. Women did have a certain amount of power, and I love that historians are recognising that. My study is focused on the early modern period though, so I didn't know much about before then. History is full of independant and powerful women. It's brilliant.
