I'm not going to look up the full prescribing information for Wellbutrin (and by the way, when you get a sec, tell me which one it is -- brand, generic, strength, etc). but some of that information you have is written by lawyers trying to prevent product liability lawsuits. On sleep aids, you'll see the warning, "may cause drowsiness." So, understand that the warnings purpose is to protect the company more than you in a failure to warn action ( ... )

I've taken the generic of Welbrutrin and had an occasional drink on it, and it was fine for me (disclaimer: just a personal anecdote, my experience is not everyone's, etc.). But I was well out of college and past my more heavy drinking days, and it was more like a glass of wine with dinner once or twice a month. So there's that.

But like Ruth says, alcohol is a depressant so it's better to stay away until you feel comfortable with an occasional drink. I had no problem with saying , "Can't drink because of my medication" and that was enough, but i know other people have different circumstances.

I've not been prescribed anything in that line and so have nothing informative to say re: side effects and the like, but I do very much want to at least offer hugs and hope and encouragement, for whatever they're worth.

If you want to try this, I am so glad that you can.
