fffffffffffff

*reading this bit by bit*

Hohenheim is. Too much for words. What what what that family is so broken.

Your Hawkeye is ten billions times even more epic than she already is in canon.
“Calm down, Edward.”
“Easy for you to say! If this goes to shit, you’ll be dead, so what’ll you care?” And this exchange is all at once hilarious, deep and disturbingly revealing about both their life philosophies.

And
broken!Roy
made me seriously think you'd offed Hawkeye, too. :'((( That was delightfully painful. Although somehow the scariest part of Ed's epic freakout was

“Seriously, Major, you can let me go now. Uh, sorry about that. But I’m okay now. I just wanna see Hawkeye, I just wanna see-I’m not gonna do anything, just let me, let me-fuck you, I’ll kill you, get off me, I’m-”

Crazycrazycraaaazzzyyyy ♥♥
Major love for the importance of names, too - I forgot to mention it earlier but Ed randomly saying "Roy" and then using it in narration, too ! ♥ made me really really really happy and i don't even ship them except in everything ( ... )

ARGH, THE HOHENHEIM REUNION. Such a crash-burn. I kind of feel bad for Hohenheim. I mean, at least with Al around, there was one father-son reunion that was only slightly awkward. Then with canon!Ed, it was like "Punch you in the FACE" levels of awkward. But crazy!Ed? YIKES.

Hawkeye! ♥♥♥ I adore that woman's understated insanity. I adore it in canon. Just. She will be quietly in the background BEING SCARY, don't mind her. AND DON'T MAKE HER MAD. XD YAY.

At one stage I actually did kill Hawkeye and it was horrible horrible horrible and I'd written an alternate version within 15 minutes and deleted the first one within the day. SO TERRIBLE. *shudders*

I'm glad you liked the names! I do love the Ishbalan Name Thing, and since Ed had spent so much time with them in this 'verse, I figured he might well have picked that up. :D

hah! I tried not to have an Ed/Roy vibe in this fic, believe it or not. *fails again* XD

Thank you for the comments! So happy!

Edward is breaking my heart. The kid really is. He is a lot better than he used to be in the beginning though, when I think back on his first encounter with Roy. Golly, that kid, leaving coded notes in blood, and all that.

On the other hand, I really love all the Hawkeye in this. She is as wry and sharp as always, and I'm so glad you saved her. (Saved her? Didn't off her? Same difference)

I keep finding myself wistfully thinking of her interactions with Al though. Like that time Al kept her from completely losing it when she thought Lust killed Mustang. *sigh* I'm loving and being pained by this Al shaped hole in the narrative. (poor Mei -- what will happen to her in this verse?)

Now I'm wondering what FMA would be like if it had been Ed that disappeared, and Alphonse was the one wandering around like this. Aaand, this is when I promptly try to kill the plot bunnies before they start multiplying like crazy.

Ed, he's mellowing out! ...A little. A very little bit. XD

Haha, I'm too much of a pansy to follow through on what this story would've been if Hawkeye'd died. Firstly, no more Hawkeye (so sad!). Secondly, Roy and Ed would KILL ALL THE THINGS, and not even Hughes could stop them. ;_; (I also didn't like the symbology of her getting killed by Lust, so. /geekery.)

It's an interesting question--what Al would do without Ed. And I don't have enough of a handle on Al to answer it. He's not as volatile as Ed...but on the other hand, he's shown himself willing to do things in cold blood with eyes wide open that Ed would never do. In some ways, he is the scarier brother. I just have no idea with that guy. *eyes him*
