I have...absolutely NO idea what just happened, but I really enjoyed reading it. Except I feel so bad for Jack! He loves his Ianto. :(

Hahaha. Well, I'm glad that you enjoyed it anyway.

And don't feel too bad for Jack--he got his Ianto back, in the end!

Huh? He flew away! I must have misunderstood.

No, Ianto did fly away, but then a few hundred years later he and Jack reunited. Or they will.

Sorry that wasn't clear. :D

That was intense.

Loved the description of Ianto breaking out and running toward the bay at the end.

Thank you! That description was sort of in bits and pieces in my head, until I finally wrote it down and had to connect them all together, but I too liked the way that it came out.

Thanks for reading, and for taking the time to comment!

Wow, this really did take a complete left turn in the second part! But while it raised a million questions, and I did feel like I was left hanging in terms of the rest of the team, oh man it was good. I like how while this was wing!fic, they weren't important or even the focus of the fic. They were mostly incidental to the actual changes and issue.

Haha, yes! Yes, it did.

There was a big transition from this being a case-style sort of story to a very insular, Ianto-centric story, but it was an important contrast to make as far as the themes of the piece go.

Definitely one of my early issues with this was how to deal with this being a wing!fic when I didn't want it to be a wing!fic. Then I realized that having Ianto even acknowledge the existence of the wings until he knew that he could use them, that he could claim them as his, was the perfect solution. I'm glad that it worked for you as well.

Thanks so much for reading, and taking the time to comment. I really, really appreciate it!

Wow, I read both parts in one go and this was intense. I love the visuals and how we can see the changes in Ianto. I also love your Jack and Ianto dynamic, you were able to show it in all of its complexities. I have to admit I was a bot conused at times but that just made it more interesting to read and I really love all the symbolism. Especially the second part, I think I held my breath the entire time I was ready and only now it is starting to return to normal.

Thank you! I'm really glad that you enjoyed the imagery from this piece--I think people tend to skim imagery, when it comes to fanfic. I'm also quite pleased to hear that you liked the Jack/Ianto dynamic. It ended up being a series of scenes that showcased different aspects of their relationship, instead of one that captured all of it, but I think it worked in the end.

Thanks so much for reading, and for taking the time to comment. I hope that your breathing returns to normal soon!

I thought it might have been a fallen angel when I read the first part - interesting concept, I enjoyed reading it - it made me think.
