I've been thinking a bit more about
seraphim's question about five books, and thought I would add a few more. He did say "about" five.
- Cry, the beloved country, by Alan Paton
- The Greater Trumps, by Charles Williams
- War in heaven, by Charles Williams
- The Dharma bums, by Jack Kerouac
- Orthodoxy, by G.K. Chesterton

We meet again! Thank you for adding my name to your friends list. I will promptly add yours to mine; "now now," as you say down there. Or is it "just now"... or... "now"? It seems to me that "now now" means right away... but I digress...
I spent four months in Namibia and a month in South Africa, back in 1986-1987. I was with Youth With a Mission, based in Windhoek, and traveled quite a bit in South Africa as well. Do you know who Hannes Siebert is? He was my first contact down there. I imagine you will have heard of him.

What five books would you choose?

I listed quite a few on my journal page, but did not list Lossky's books, In the Image and Likeness and Mystical Theology of the Eastern Church; also
The Place of the Lionby Charles Williams
(keyboard space bar sticks occasionally so you'll have to bear with me here)
Perelandraby C.S. Lewis
Everything by George MacDonald, and also the Anthology
of MacDonald's sayings, compiled by C.S. Lewis.
Well, that's five!
